Career Advice: Biography of Amy Langer, CPA, inactive

Amy Langer is a Certified Public Accountant (currently inactive) and co-founder and partner at Salo, LLC. Salo is a professional services firm that places accounting and financial professionals and helps companies handle critical projects and cover vital positions. Salo has grown to $21 million in revenue and over 175 employees after 3 short years. In 2006, Salo started 2 new companies: Vallon, focusing on executive level contract placement, and Oberon, focusing on human resources contract placement.

Prior to these entrepreneurial ventures, Amy was a director of international recruiting at a placement firm, building a business that focused on consulting and contracting accounting and financial professionals. Amy began her career at KPMG, LLP.

In 2010, Amy was named a 40 Under Forty honoree by the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal. Amy was also named a 2005 "Emerging Business Owner of the Year" and 2004 "Woman on the Way" by the National Association of Woman Business Owners. In 2004, she received the "Woman to Watch" award from The Business Journal. Amy and her business partner John Folkestad were recognized as a 2006 Ernst and Young "Emerging Business Entrepreneur of the Year" for the Minnesota and Dakotas Region by Twin Cities Business Monthly.
