» Our history
Our purpose is to help our members succeed professionally
while being mindful of serving the public. We have
four primary initiatives:
- Provide education
- Encourage leadership
- Offer member resources
- Serve the public
The Society operates
through volunteer committees and task forces, statewide chapters and
a board of directors elected by the membership. Support services and
professional development are managed by a professional staff.
MNCPA membership is open to anyone holding a CPA
certificate (active or inactive) from any state. Associate
membership is available to non-CPA owners or billable professionals
of a firm, corporate finance professionals or non-CPAs in a
full-time accounting educator role.
About CPAs
CPAs are business and financial strategists who help chart the
paths of individuals and businesses. Members are credentialed by the
state after passing a rigorous exam and meeting specific work and
education experience requirements.
CPAs are required to follow a
strict code of ethics and perform within the high standards of the
profession. They take continuing educations to keep up with new
rules and regulations in the financial, accounting and business
world.
