Taylor Corporation is seeking a Director of Internal Audit in an effort to start a risk-based internal audit program for our entire organization. Position location can be in Eagan office or Mankato Office.
The Director of Internal Audit, along with evaluating compliance and appraising the adequacy of management’s action plans to implement internal audits, will be leading the audit process including inquiries, investigations, work paper reviews and presentations of findings. They will also make recommendations as needed in regards to internal control policies and procedures.
Our ideal candidate will be able to effectively communicate and educate management on the importance of an effective control environment and continually seek to improve auditing standards and practices. The position does require the need to travel on a regular basis and thus the ability to work independently.

Hennepin Community and Technical College is seeking a volunteer to serve on their accounting advisory council. The 2-year college offer two tracks to accounting students: one for those who will be transferring to a 4-year college and one for those seeking a terminal 2 year Associate of Applied Science degree. More and more students in both tracks want to continue their education, so they are doing an overhaul of their accounting curriculum. Be a coach/mentor to an enrolled participant of Faith in the City's Family Savings Account Program. The Family Savings Account Program combines financial literacy education with a $4 to $1 matched savings account for low-income earners. Participant's savings and match money can be used for first-time homeownership, post-secondary education, business start-up or expansion. As participants complete their financial literacy training and create their plan of action you can be their sounding board and provide support as they work toward achieving financial self-sufficiency. Training is provided for this service opportunity. A background check is required. Time commitment is generally two to three hours of service per month. A minimum commitment of one year is optimal.

Volunteer Financial Literacy Class Instructor
Description: Teach 1 of 6 financial classes to participants of the Family Savings Accounts (a 4:1 matched savings account geared toward acquiring an asset). The core curriculum of this series is: asset-building; self-assessment of values around money and skill-building to deal with internal and social pressures. Each two-hour class covers a different topic. Some topics include: budgeting, credit building, investments, and consumer protection. As an instructor, you may opt to teach one or several classes.
