Financial Literacy Campaign: Opportunities to Get Involved

The MNCPA, AICPA and other state societies have made educating Americans on financial literacy a priority. Here are some easy ways to lend your financial expertise to the campaign.

8 ways to take action today

1. Take a free online course on financial literacy
Earn 4 CPE credits while brushing up on financial literacy topics.

2. Find financial planning resources for consumers
Educate your clients and community with articles and tips on financial issues at various life stages. Resources are available on the 360 Degrees of Financial Literacy website.

3. Promote Feed the Pig
Include a link to www.feedthepig.org on your firm’s Web site and in your client newsletter. Tell your family, friends, colleagues and clients that your profession is part of an exciting Ad Council campaign.

4. Join the Embassy Club (speaker exchange)
Become an MNCPA speaker and educate businesses, families, and individuals on essential financial information.  You'll improve your presentation skills and raise your profile.

5. Explore tools available for speakers
The AICPA provides several presentations and tools on financial topics for small businesses, parents, high schoolers, and more.

6. Let us know when you speak
Submit a member note and let us know who you're talking to and what topics you're discussing.  We'll mention you in the Footnote and help promote your speaking efforts.

7. Look for groups needing speakers
Ask community groups, churches, colleges, schools, and other organizations if they would like an MNCPA representative to speak on financial literacy topics.

8. Watch for new financial literacy opportunities
As the campaign develops, we'll announce new opportunities in the Footnote, on the web, and in other MNCPA publications.
