What's in store for CPAs in 2009? Read about four key issues that the MNCPA may encounter.

The issues

Alternative Minimum Tax (AMT) Conformity
Many of your middle class clients are being caught in the AMT trap. Find out how you can help work on this growing crisis.

Estate Tax Conformity
Is Minnesota a bad place to die? See why Minnesota's estate tax law is creating problems for estate planners.

Mobility
CPAs outside the state are able to practice in Minnesota without notifying the BOA or paying a fee. As other states pass this legislation, Minnesota CPAs are accorded the same mobility access.

Students Sitting for the Exam
Statutory changes will allow students in their last semester of college to apply and sit for the CPA exam.

Three-Year Certificate Renewal Cycle
The MNCPA supported legislation that will change the renewal process to a three-year cycle in 2010. This change will hopefully reduce the end-of-year administrative delays that occur at the Board of Accountancy (BOA).

Unlicensed Tax Preparer Regulation
