Topic ideas
The Footnote seeks to publish original articles by volunteer
authors with a focus on current developments, trends and issues
affecting the accounting profession.
Articles considered will be on
topics of relevance to the MNCPA members. Articles about issues specific to CPAs in public practice and corporate practice
will be given priority. However, other topics will also be
considered.
Articles should not promote a specific business, service,
software, or product.
Possible topics include:

Style
Footnote articles are written
in a journalistic feature style according to the
Associated Press.
Submission format
- Font: Arial or Times New Roman
- Size: 12 pt.
- Leave only one space between
sentences
- Tabs: None
- Justification: Left
- File form: Text or Word document attachment sent via
e-mail

Deadlines
Articles may be submitted at anytime throughout the year. If
you are interested in submitting an article for a specific issue of the
Footnote, submit the story idea at least 10 weeks prior to the publication
month. A first draft of the article must be submitted at least seven weeks prior
to publication.

Terms and conditions

MNCPA reserves the right to refuse articles.

It is the responsibility of the author to ensure
credibility and accuracy.

All articles are selected and subject to editing by
Footnote staff. Articles will be edited to conform with the
editorial style of the magazine. Subheads, graphics,
captions, and pull quotes may be added to the content.

Authors may submit a short biography with their e-mail
address and Web site. Content should not exceed 30 words.
-
The MNCPA may grant permission to other state CPA Societies
to republish articles. Authors will be contacted prior to
granting permission.
