of Accountancy CPE rules
Active certificate holders in Minnesota need to show 120 hours of CPE over a 3-year period with a minimum of 20 hours each year.
Ethics CPE rules
As part of the 120 hour requirement, 8 need to be in business or accounting ethics.
Yellow Book CPE rules
Auditors performing work under GASAS need to complete 80 hours of CPE every two years with a minimum of 20 hours each year. Specific rules for those who audit and those you only perform fieldwork also apply and affect the type of CPE that is acceptable.
QAS
approval for self-study programs
Self-study programs have their own rules and require QAS
approval through NASBA. The Minnesota Board of Accountancy
now requires that no more than 80% of your required CPE hours
may come from self-study programs.
