Deployed Soldiers Get Tax Help From CPAs

CPAs are ready to help prepare tax returns for deployed Minnesota soldiers

Qualified military personnel can receive free tax preparation by certified public accountants (CPAs). This service is being offered in cooperation with the Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants (MNCPA) and the Minnesota National Guard Family Programs.

Deployed military personnel (in all branches) currently deployed or who have returned from deployment within the last 12 months who are residents of Minnesota qualify for free state and federal individual income tax return preparation. Service members, spouses or family members can call Minnesota National Guard Family Programs at 651-268-8204 to use the service.

The MNCPA is part of the national 360 Degrees of Financial Literacy campaign to help Americans improve financial literacy. Resources and information are available online at www.360financialliteracy.org including specific information for military and reserves personnel.

The Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants (MNCPA) serves the public interest by advancing the highest standards of ethics and practice within the CPA profession. MNCPA delivers on that promise by offering extensive continuing professional education and resources; advocating for members and the public with regulatory agencies and boards; and mentoring and encouraging the CPAs and business leaders of tomorrow. Founded in 1904, MNCPA’s 9,400 members work in public accounting, business, industry, government and education. To locate a CPA, visit www.mncpa.org/taxhelp.
