Eide Bailly LLP has acquired Clark & Srsich LLC (C&S), a boutique tax firm in Littleton, Colo. Eide Bailly Managing Partner and CEO Jerry Topp said, “We have added many specialties to our tax practice, including State and Local Tax (SALT) services and cost segregation studies. The addition of C&S strengthens our SALT team and gives us more experience to deal with complex corporate and partnership taxation issues.”

Boeckermann, Grafstrom & Mayer, LLC and St. Paul firm Johnson, West & Co. have merged. The newly combined firm now operates its practice as Boeckermann, Grafstrom & Mayer, LLC. Daniel Boeckermann, CPA, PFS, remains as chairman of the board, while Cory Parnell, CPA, of Johnson, West & Co., is now CEO of the merged firm. “This merger marks a significant milestone in realizing our vision of providing our clients with an ever-expanding range of financial and business consulting services,” said Boeckermann. Parnell added, “The two firms have very similar philosophies, and we share the same values.”

CliftonLarsonAllen LLP (CLA) acquired accounting firm Jenkins & Vojtisek, SC. of Racine, Wis., effective Jan. 1. Seventeen Jenkins & Vojtisek professionals, including partners Steve Jenkins, CPA, and Rick Vojtisek, CPA, will join CLA and remain in their current Racine location. “Jenkins & Vojtisek has garnered a strong reputation in the Racine and Kenosha business communities for many years as a result of providing exceptional service to their clients,” said CLA Managing Partner for Wisconsin Mark Williams, CPA. “We are very pleased about this opportunity to expand CLA’s services in Southeastern Wisconsin.”
Recognized for their outstanding philanthropic efforts, recipients of the Minneapolis St. Paul Business Journal’s 2012 Corporate Giving — Jefferson Awards last November included Baker Tilly Virchow Krause, LLP, Capella Education Company, Carlson, Deluxe Corporation, Northeast Bank, The Toro Company and The Travelers Companies, Inc. In addition, Northeast Bank was honored with a National Jefferson Award. Congratulations to these companies and the MNCPA members who work at them.
Cornell Kahler Shidell & Mair, PLLP in St. Paul changed its name to Shidell & Mair PLLP, effective Jan. 1.
Wipfli LLP announced in December the purchase of Duluth-based Eikill & Schilling Ltd., a firm with 31 partners and associates and two Minnesota offices. As a combined firm, Wipfli will have 22 offices in the U.S., including four in Minnesota. “While Wipfli has served businesses in Minnesota for many years, joining forces with Eikill & Schilling will give our combined firm an even stronger physical presence in Minnesota,” said Rick Dreher, managing partner of Wipfli LLP.
Congratulations to Healthland and Summit Brewing Company and the MNCPA members who work there. The companies were honored in January as 2012 honorees for Twin Cities Business’ Small Business Success Stories. Code 42 Software, Donnelly Custom Manufacturing, and Vomela Group were among the finalists. The honorees were featured in the January issue of Twin Cities Business Magazine.
