Minnesota Society of CPAs announces 2019–20 board officers
Rachel D. Polson of Baker Tilly Virchow Krause, LLP assumes chair of MNCPA board of directors
MINNEAPOLIS (April 3, 2019)
— The Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants
(MNCPA) will welcome its new officers and directors at its April 18 board of directors meeting, including Rachel D. Polson, CPA as the organization’s 2019–20 board chair.
Polson is a partner at Baker Tilly
in Minneapolis. She has been an MNCPA member for nearly 20 years. Prior to assuming leadership of the board, Polson served as board treasurer and as a member of the General Industries Review Task Force and Leadership Committee.
“I look forward to continuing to support and celebrate our profession. Our CPA certification is invaluable and an honor to hold,” Polson wrote in her first message to the membership. “I also look forward to connecting with my fellow CPA members to hear your ideas on how the MNCPA can support the CPA profession in remaining relevant and thriving.”
The following MNCPA board officers also assumed leadership at the board meeting:
- Vice chair: Katherine Gabriel, CPA, Salo, LLC, Minneapolis.
- Treasurer: Charles Esler, CPA, Hennepin Healthcare.
- Secretary: Jennifer G. Miller, CPA, Boston Scientific Corporation.
- Chair-elect: Benjamin Ellingson, CPA, CGMA, Eide Bailly LLP, Mankato.
In addition, the MNCPA board welcomed its newest directors:
- Kara Hanson, CPA, Hollstadt Consulting.
- Lisa Miller, CPA, Colle McVoy.
- Shauna Zwart, CPA, MBT, Deloitte LLP.
The MNCPA serves the public interest by advancing the highest standards of ethics and practices within the CPA profession. The MNCPA delivers on that promise by offering extensive continuing professional education and resources; advocating for members and the public with regulatory agencies and boards; and mentoring and encouraging the CPAs and business leaders of tomorrow.
