Minnesota Society of CPAs announce 2022–23 board officers
Charles Esler of Hennepin Healthcare System, Inc. assumes chair of MNCPA board of directors
MINNEAPOLIS (April 22, 2022) — The
Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants (MNCPA) welcomed its new officers and directors at its April 21 board of directors meeting, including Charles Esler, CPA as the organization’s 2022–23 board chair.
Esler is the controller at Hennepin Healthcare System, Inc. and previously worked in public accounting at McGladrey & Pullen (now RSM US LLP). Prior to assuming leadership of the board, Esler served as the board’s vice chair and treasurer. He’s also served on the MNCPA Health Care Conference Task Force, on the MNCPA Business & Industry Advisory Council and as part of the MNCPA’s Talk to the Students program.
“I’m looking forward to the ability to work with, and learn from, professionals I respect and whose company I enjoy,” Esler said. “The MNCPA sets the standard for excellence for other CPA societies.”
These MNCPA board officers also assumed leadership at the board meeting:
- Vice chair: Cameron Edgar, CPA, RSM US LLP.
- Treasurer: Kara Hanson, CPA, St. Croix Hospice.
- Secretary: Jerome Reutzel, CPA, MBT, Boeckermann, Grafstrom & Mayer, LLP.
- Chair-elect: Bob Cedergren, CPA, CGMA, Wipfli LLP.
In addition, the MNCPA board welcomed its newest directors:
- Sara DeRoo, CPA, Christianson PLLP.
- Jerry Lee, CPA, CGMA, MBA, Lee Financial Group.
The MNCPA serves the public interest by advancing the highest standards of ethics and practices within the CPA profession. The MNCPA delivers on that promise by offering extensive continuing professional education and resources; advocating for members and the public with regulatory agencies and boards; and mentoring and encouraging the CPAs and business leaders of tomorrow. Founded in 1904, the MNCPA has 8,000 members who work in public accounting, business and industry, government and education.
