Dennis F. Dycus, CPA, CFE, CGFM, recently retired after 39 years with the Office of the Comptroller of the Treasury of the State of Tennessee. As former director of the Division of Municipal Audit, he oversaw all forms of local government audits in Tennessee, including cities, towns, utility districts, housing authorities and quasi-governmental entities. Dycus was involved in more than 500 investigations that uncovered millions of fraudulently lost public funding dollars; many of the cases were resolved with a substantial recovery of funds. He now develops and teaches courses across the nation and provides consulting services to local governments, public accounting firms and private sector organizations.
