Multi-day course:
Monday, June 27, 2022 - Tuesday, June 28, 2022
8:30am - 12:00pm Central Time
8 CPE (4 technical, 4 non-technical)

Every organization has competition, but some perform better than others. The most successful companies have two secrets: they know what’s profitable and they have a clear strategy. As boards increasingly look to CFOs to participate in – and even drive – corporate strategy, you need to know not only how to make the organization profitable, but also how to pinpoint effective business strategies. Discover how these skills can dramatically improve financial performance and gain insights that can equip your company with a competitive advantage that leads to better profits.

This course takes place virtually, 8:30 a.m. – noon, on June 27 and June 28. It is part of the MNCPA CFO Series.

Major subjects

  • Module 1: Creating Competitive Advantage – the strategy development process, how to turn your organization’s quest for competitive advantage into a reality
  • Module 2: Profitable Pricing – identifying pricing opportunities that translate into better profits, using cost information to attain more profitable pricing, how to avoid overpricing and underpricing
  • Module 3: Contemporary Cost Concepts – activity-based costing and how it can fuel competitive advantages, avoiding poor cost analyses, problems with applying traditional cost techniques to products that aren’t “average”
  • Module 4: Cost and Pricing Models: Creating an Effective Tool – getting your cost information right so you can determine profitable prices, how to use activity-based costing data to build accurate costing models that consider variables beyond labor and materials
