Special Interest Sections: Not-for-Profit
Not-for-profit organizations come in a variety of shapes and sizes – foundations, hospitals, youth clubs, associations, social services. While their missions and organizations are different, they often face similar challenges in tax, audit, human resources, financial reporting and risk management. That’s why the not-for-profit group was created. This special interest section is the place to go to share knowledge and meet fellow CPAs with an interest in not-for-profits.
The group's purpose is to create a safe place to ask questions, offer answers and openly discuss topics important to CPAs working at, or interested in, not-for-profits. In addition to the meetings, the MNCPA may ask for volunteers from the group to review a technical article, suggest topics and plan for the Not-for-Profit Conference, and provide feedback in a focus group about a program, topic or situation.
Target audience: Members with an interest in not-for-profit
Meeting frequency: Three times per year
Cost: Free, available only to MNCPA members
