What are my attendance options?

  • Hybrid
    • June 13 & 14 -- attend virtually.
    • June 15 -- attend in-person at Mystic Lake Center in Prior Lake, Minn.
  • Virtual only
    • June 13 & 14 – attend virtually. 
    • June 15 -- attend the livestream.

Select the appropriate registration type during the checkout process. You may also register for one day of MBAC23.

What options are available if I attend day three in person? What if I choose the livestream?

  • In-person attendees (hybrid registration) will have access to three additional in-person exclusive sessions on day three, refreshments and lunch at the conference, and the happy hour that evening, as well as other opportunities to interact and engage with attendees, vendors, sponsors and speakers.
  • All other sessions are available to both hybrid and virtual registration types.
  • There will also be virtual ways to engage and connect with attendees, speakers and sponsors.


What do I need to know about the in-person venue?
The in-person portion of the conference is June 15 at Mystic Lake Center.

Where should I park?
Park in the free lot located north of Mystic Lake Center.

  • From Mystic Lake Drive NW, go west on Dakotah Parkway.
  • At the roundabout, take the third exit to go south on Mystic Center Drive.
  • Turn into the Mystic Lake Center event parking lot.
  • Enter the building at the north entrance.

Note: Mystic Lake Center is located north of Mystic Lake Casino/Hotel. For easier access to the conference, park at Mystic Lake Center, not at the casino/hotel.

Are hotel rooms available?

If you wish to stay at the Mystic Lake Center hotel before the in-person conference day, contact Betsy Narr at 952-395-1010 or bnarr@mncpa.org. The special goup rate is availabe through May 17. Availability is limited.

Narcotics, firearms and outside alcohol policy: Mystic Lake Casino Hotel is a narcotics and firearm free facility. Narcotics and firearms are strictly prohibited. No outside alcohol is permitted. Guest bags and coolers are subject to search upon entry to hotel. There are no exceptions to this policy.
 

What are the COVID protocols?
Your health and safety is our number one priority. We continue to monitor the situation and follow MDH guidance. At this time, attendees are not required to be vaccinated or wear masks. For venue-specific details, visit Mystic Lake's health and safety page.


What technology do I need?

For the livestream/virtual portion of the conference:

  • You can choose to participate via your laptop/desktop computer or via mobile device.
  • If you participate via computer, you will need a functional computer with a strong internet connection. It’s not necessary to download an app if you’re not coming to the in-person portion and prefer to use your computer.
  • If you participate via mobile device, you’ll need to download the Eventsential app before the conference starts on Tuesday, June 13.

For the in-person portion of the conference:

  • Hybrid/in-person attendees must download the Eventsential app to your mobile device before arriving at MBAC23 on Thursday, June 15.
  • You are required to use this app to check in at each session.

How can I ensure a smooth experience?

  • Add noreply@rdmobile.com and confirmations@mncpa.org to your safe sender list to ensure you receive login instructions and access links.
    • Pre-conference emails will be sent starting Thursday, June 8. If you don’t see these in your inbox, we recommend checking your spam folders or contacting your IT person for help.
  • Test your system to ensure a good connection for viewing sessions.
  • If you prefer hard copies of materials, download the materials and print them before the conference begins. Materials are available electronically only, and you can access them via your MNCPA account or within the conference platform.
  • In-person attendees: Download the Eventsential app before you arrive on Thursday, June 15, to ensure you’re ready to check into the first session at 8 a.m. You are required to use this app to check in at each session.
  • In-person attendees: Arrive by 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 15 to park, check in, grab breakfast and find your first session.

CONFERENCE MATERIALS

How do I access my conference materials?
Most sessions have materials available for download. You can access the PDFs via the MNCPA website three business days before the event and two weeks after, or via the conference platform during the event. Your registration fee must be paid in full to access the materials on the MNCPA website.

To access materials from the MNCPA website:

  • Go to the My CPE materials page and log in with your username and password.
  • Under the MBAC event, click the link to the session materials you want to access.

To access materials from within the conference platform:

  • Go to the “Materials” option in the platform’s navigation menu.
  • Or, select a session from the schedule and scroll down to the “Resources” area to find materials for that session.
  • Or, access materials during each session’s presentation.

Are paper handouts available? 
No, materials are available electronically only. 

FEES AND REGISTRATION

Can I register for only one day?
Yes. We recommend attending all days to maximize your learning and value, but you may register for only one day at a reduced fee.


Is there a two-day registration option?
No. If you would like to attend two days of the conference, the best deal is to register for all three days and simply attend the two days you'd like.


Can I register for a single session?
No. A la carte registration is not available for this event.


Can I split a multiple-day registration with a friend?
No. Each person who attends the conference must be registered individually to ensure continuing education credits are given appropriately.


Can I switch my registration from hybrid to virtual only, or vice versa?
Yes, you can switch your registration. Please call the MNCPA at 952-831-2707 or email customerservice@mncpa.org for assistance.


I'm already registered, but still need to pick sessions. How do I do this?
Session registration is required to receive continuing education credits for the sessions you attend. You may select or update your session selections throught the end of the event (June 15). To pick your sessions:

  • Go to your CPE schedule and log in with your username and password.
  • Click on the "Sessions" link listed under the MBAC event.
  • Click the "Add/Remove Sessions" button (above the "List of Your Sessions" heading).
  • Use the check boxes to make your session selections.
  • Click "Continue" at the bottom of the page to complete the session selection process.


I'm not sure which sessions I want to attend. Can I submit my conference registration now and choose sessions later?
It is important that we receive your session selections to ensure your continuing education credits are awarded correctly, so please select your sessions as soon as you're able to. 


What if I need to cancel my registration?

  • Cancellation: Receive a full refund if you cancel your registration by 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 7, 2023. Cancellations must be received at least four (4) business days prior to an event to receive a full refund. No refunds will be issued if you cancel within three (3) business days of the event and no CPE credit will be earned. Cancel online or contact MNCPA Customer Service at 952-831-2707. Please see our cancellation policy for more information.
  • Substitution: Rather than cancel your registration, you do have the option to send a substitute. You will not incur any cancellation/transfer fees if you send a substitute, even if the substitution is made within three (3) days of the event. To make a substitution, call MNCPA Customer Service at 952-831-2707. Please note: Additional fees may apply if the original registrant is an MNCPA member and the substitute registrant is a nonmember. The difference in fees will be charged to the substitute registrant.


What is the deadline to receive the VIP members-only fee?
Your registration and payment must be received by Friday, May 12, 2023, to qualify for the VIP members-only fee. This fee is for MNCPA members only.


What is the deadline to receive the early bird registration fee?
Your registration must be received by Friday, May 26, 2023, to qualify for the early bird registration fee.


What other discounts are available?

  • MNCPA members receive a discounted rate. You can join today to receive the discount on this event and other MNCPA CPE programs.
  • Multiple registrations of 10 or more people from the same firm/company can receive a discounted rate of $599 for members and $899 for nonmembers. Registrations must be submitted with payment by Friday, May 19, 2023. Visit the registration page for more information.
  • First-time MBAC attendees can receive a discounted rate of $599 (available to MNCPA members only). Visit the registration page for more information.
 

CONTINUING EDUCATION

How many credits can I earn at the Management and Business Advisers Conference?
The Management and Business Advisers Conference qualifies for up to 24 CPE credits if you attend all three days. You can also earn other types of continuing education credits - CLE and ethics. See the credits page for more information on continuing education credits.


Who is the CPE sponsor?
The MNCPA is the sponsor of this conference.


What type of CPE is the Management and Business Advisers Conference?
This entire event is categorized as group internet-based CPE. 

 
How is my attendance tracked?
In compliance with CPE standards, your participation will be tracked.

For the in-person portion of the conference:

  • Your attendance will be tracked using the Eventsential app QR reader.
  • Open the app’s QR reader and hold your device up to the QR code at each session room.

For the livestream/virtual portion of the conference:

  • Your attendance will be tracked using random attendance checks during each session.
  • A chime will play and a pop-up will appear for each attendance check. You must click on the pop-up to verify your attendance.

 
How do I ensure I receive CPE credits?
Make sure you are registered for sessions, attend the sessions you’re registered for, and either scan the QR code at each session (in-person/hybrid portion) or click on all attendance checks (livestream/virtual portion).
 
How do I ensure I receive ethics credits?
Make sure you are registered for ethics sessions (B3, H3, M1), attend the sessions you’re registered for, and either scan the QR code at each session (in-person/hybrid portion) or click on all attendance checks (livestream/virtual portion).
 
Is there anything special I do for CLE credits?
There is no separate sign-in or tracking for CLE credit. Attendees must self-report CLE credits after the conference.
 
When will my certificate of attendance be ready?
CPE transcripts (certificates of attendance) will be updated with MBAC23 information three weeks after the program. You can access your transcript on the MNCPA website.

MISCELLANEOUS

How to ask a question to a speaker:
Type your questions into the event platform's chat or Q&A feature at any session. Questions will be answered as time permits.
 
How to interact with sponsors and exhibitors:

  • If you’re attending in person, make sure to visit the exhibitor booths and mingle with other attendees at lunch and happy hour!
  • You can also scan other attendees’ name badges using the app’s QR reader, which saves their information in the app so you can connect in the future.
  • To connect with sponsors and exhibitors virtually, go to the Exhibitors option in the platform menu. Click on an exhibitor link to learn more about offers, services and door prizes.

How to participate in the games:

  • In the platform menu, go to the “Games & Giveaways” option and click the Door Prize Drawing to enter to win awesome prizes.
  • Watch your inbox and stay tuned for conference announcements for more opportunities to participate in games and win other prizes!
