Minnesota Society of CPAs announces 2026-27 board officers
Sara DeRoo, partner at Christianson PLLP assumes chair of MNCPA board of directors
MINNEAPOLIS (April 24, 2026) — The Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants (MNCPA) welcomed its new officers and directors at its April 22 board of directors meeting, including Sara DeRoo, CPA as the organization’s 2026-27 board chair.
DeRoo is a partner at Christianson PLLP and has experience in both industry and public accounting. Prior to assuming leadership of the board, DeRoo also served as a longtime member of the MNCPA’s board of directors and peer review committee, as well as volunteering with CPAs in the Classroom. In particular, she is excited to be on the forefront of technological changes happening in the profession and to continually adapt to what current and future members need to be successful.
“The rapid pace of technological change is a significant challenge; it forces employers, universities and even high schools to adapt quickly,” DeRoo said. “We have yet to truly see the impact on how AI changes our training and learning styles, workplace environments, people interactions — the list goes on! I feel this evolution will create a new blueprint for technology use in our profession.”
These MNCPA board officers also assumed leadership at the board meeting:
- Vice chair: Anne Brader, CPA, Thrifty White Pharmacy
- Treasurer: David Brauer, CPA, EisnerAmper
- Secretary: Craig Chilcote, CPA, Anderson, Kuiti & Asuma, PLLC
- Chair-elect: Trevor Long, CPA, RSM US LLP
In addition, the MNCPA board welcomed its newest directors:
- Eric Grube, CPA, Concordia University, St. Paul
- John Muehlberg, CPA, Kern Laser Systems
The MNCPA serves the public interest by advancing the highest standards of ethics and practices within the CPA profession. The MNCPA delivers on that promise by offering extensive continuing professional education and resources; advocating for members and the public with regulatory agencies and boards; and mentoring and encouraging the CPAs and business leaders of tomorrow. Founded in 1904, the MNCPA has 7,500 members who work in public accounting, business and industry, government and education.
