Busy season is as traditional as grandma’s hotdish. And, like your memories of dining with granny, you’re getting an extra helping of busy season. For a little levity, we thought we’d share responses from our most recent tax survey to members who were asked a simple question: You know it’s busy season when ____. You didn’t disappoint.
The tax survey is part of our 10th annual Tax Campaign, which promotes the importance of CPAs and the profession to the public. - Grandiose Statue of Liberty doppelgangers start inexplicably waving at you from street corners.
- Email and phone calls

- The filing cabinet will not close.
- Sunglasses aren’t needed for the drive before or after work.
- Outreach from friends of yesteryear increases this time of year.
- Murmurs of 1040 in your sleep becomes commonplace, so says your spouse.
- Everyone in your family teases you the fifth season of the year has arrived.
- Saturday is pizza day.
- Laundry stacks up.
- Every day that ends in “Y” is spent at the office.
- Enjoyment of “The Tonight Show” doesn’t happen the same night of its airing.
