Susan Smith, CPA, owns a tax advisory firm specializing in tax planning for individuals and business owners and is a frequent speaker at tax conferences. She previously served as a senior manager in the tax departments of Price Waterhouse and Peat Marwick, the predecessor of KPMG, where she held national specialist roles in real estate and partnership taxation and led the local real estate and tax practices. Susan also served as an associate adjunct professor in the master’s taxation program at Widener University. She is a four-time recipient of the James L. McCoy Discussion Leader of the Year Award and has received the Surgent Outstanding Discussion Leader Award three times for her expertise and presentation skills. Susan earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in accounting from the University of Toledo.
