What’s your favorite part of your job?
I really enjoy the client relationships I have developed the last 4 years. I love being able to go to a variety of different business around the cities and get an understanding of how they work. I grew up near the cities, so it is really fascinating to interact with the people that help make the area so unique.

Why did you join YPG?
I joined to meet other enthusiastic and outgoing individuals in my profession. It’s not too often you get a chance to get a bunch of accountants from a variety of firms together outside of a work setting so the YPG events are a nice way to meet people.

What is the best piece of advice you ever received?
You can always learn something from everyone. Even if it is an example of what not to do, every person can teach you something that will help improve your life.

What do you do in your free time?
I am a pretty avid sports fan so I both play and watch quite a bit of sports. The Green Bay Packers tend to occupy a lot of my time in the fall and I play softball during the summer and boot hockey during the winter. I also really enjoy live music and comedy, so I go see a lot of live shows.

What is your dream vacation?
I would love to tour Europe. I really enjoy ancient Roman history, so it would be fun to go see places like the Colosseum or Pantheon. My ancestors are almost all from Germany or Austria, so I also would like to visit those areas as well.

What is your favorite season in Minnesota and why?
My favorite season in Minnesota is fall. Minnesota can be very beautiful during the fall and it is also the start of football and hunting season, two of my biggest passions.

What is the most interesting thing you’ve learned in life so far?
I was in the Marine Corps for 6 years and I think one of the greatest things I learned was that people can do a lot more than they think they are capable of. Mental strength and attitude go a long way in achieving goals and you’d be surprised what you can accomplish with the right approach.
