MNCPA Scholars Program

Building awareness of the accounting profession among minority high school students

Scholars in the Viking locker at US Bank Stadium

The MNCPA Scholars Program is a mentorship and career awareness program promoting the CPA profession to minority high school students. This year-long curriculum emphasizes the importance of high school graduation and encourages students to pursue college.

The goal of the program is two-fold: Increase the number of minorities majoring in accounting while establishing a positive image of the profession overall. Not only will advances in ethnic diversity increase the talent pool of future CPAs, but it also enables the profession to better serve clients and employers, strengthening the CPA's role as an objective expert.

"My students have really enjoyed the experience and connections they have made. Buying them professional dress and the monthly activities have enhanced their confidence and is such a positive experience that helps them stay on track as they make that difficult decision as to where and what to major in for college."
