Masha Yevzelman, Friend of the Profession

Corey Butler, MNCPA communications manager | October 2021 Footnote

Editor's note: Updated September 30, 2021

For Masha Yevzelman, her professional efforts start and stop with clients in mind.

It’s part of the reason why, for the past six years, she’s been a speaker at various MNCPA conferences, has hosted numerous webinars and has written for Footnote. Yevzelman came through time and time again, bringing her law expertise to MNCPA members by analyzing and discussing residency issues, sales and use tax, the Wayfair decision and other state level tax topics. MNCPA members have noticed the excellence in which Yevzelman operates, consistently grading her with scores of 4.5 and higher.

It’s these efforts that’s led Yevzelman to receive the MNCPA Friend of the Profession award, which recognizes non-CPAs who provide exceptional support to the CPA profession and/or MNCPA.

“I really enjoy sharing what I learn through my practice with the CPA profession,” she said. “I do it with the hope that I can help CPAs take away some tips that they can apply in their practice to add value in the services that they perform for their clients.”

In 2020, Yevzelman helped facilitate the MNCPA’s partnership with her employer, Fredrikson & Byron, which resulted in the production of a free-to-MNCPA members SALT webinar series.

“Strong communication across the two professions helps attorneys better understand the services that only CPAs can provide and vice versa,” said Yevzelman. “It helps all of us provide more comprehensive services to our clients, especially when we are able to partner together.
