Thomas A. Zessman, tax director at Ameriprise Financial, Inc., heads up the company's enterprise-wide indirect tax function. He is a sales and use tax specialist with more than 35 years of experience as a state tax auditor, a consultant, and, over the past decade, a manager in industry. Tom focuses on the nuances of state tax legislation, the tax impact of contract language and managing state tax audits in every state that enacted a sales tax. He is a frequent speaker for COST, TEI and many other organizations, at both local and national conferences. A lifelong Minnesotan, Tom is a 1983 graduate of the Carlson School of Management. He actively eschews hunting, fishing and rooting for the Vikings.
