Event Policies

Registration information and fees

Events are filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. Payment is required on or before the event start date. For more information, contact the MNCPA CPE department at 952-831-2707.

How to register:

Same-day walk-in registrations for in-person events will be accommodated if space allows.

Webinars, virtual events and livestreamed events are intended for individual viewing only. Each viewer must be registered for the event. CPE credit can only be obtained through registration with the MNCPA. Firms and companies are prohibited from providing in-house CPE credits for these events. To register a group for a webinar, virtual event or livestream, contact the MNCPA CPE department at 952-831-2707 or toll free at 1-800-331-4288, or at customerservice@mncpa.org.
 

Confirmations

Registrations are confirmed by email or mail within two business days of receipt. Confirmation of registration is also available by viewing your MNCPA CPE account. Please call the MNCPA CPE department at 952-831-2707 if you do not receive a confirmation.

Check
Make checks payable to the Minnesota Society of CPAs. Please indicate attendee name(s) and course name(s)/code(s) on the front of the check.

Credit card
The MNCPA accepts American Express, Discover, MasterCard and VISA.

Registration Fees

Fees
Event fees vary. Please consult the individual program details for fee information.

Discounts:
  • MNCPA member discount: The MNCPA member fee is available to all members of the MNCPA. Discounts vary depending on the event. You must be a member when registering and on the day of the event to receive the discounted rate.
  • VIP members-only discount: This extra discount is available to MNCPA members only, on select events. You must register by the VIP deadline and pay when you register. You must be a member when registering and on the day of the event to receive the discounted rate. For multi-day events, the VIP discount is only valid on the full event.
  • Early bird discount: Select MNCPA events offer an early bird discount when you register before the early bird deadline.
  • AICPA member discount: Select AICPA programs offer an extra discount to members of the AICPA. If available, the AICPA discount will be communicated on course web pages and in marketing materials.

Cancellation, substitution and refund policies

Cancellation policy

Receive a full refund if you cancel at least four business days prior to the event start date.

Substitutions

You may send a substitute in your place if you cannot attend. Additional nonmember fees may apply. Please notify us as soon as possible so that CPE credits can be recorded appropriately.

Cancellation of a program by the MNCPA

The MNCPA and our CPE partners reserve the right to cancel any event due to unforeseen circumstances. Every effort will be made to notify registrants immediately. Cancelled events are rescheduled or a full refund is given.

Inclement weather

Events are held on all but the most severe weather days. In case of cancellation due to inclement weather, you'll be contacted as soon as possible.

  • If the event is rescheduled due to inclement weather and you are unable to attend the rescheduled event or another event, the MNCPA will issue a full refund.
  • If the event has not been cancelled and you are unable to travel due to inclement weather, the MNCPA will issue a full refund.
  • Please note: If you do not attend the event and fail to call us on the day of the event, you will forfeit your entire fee.

Responsibility waiver

The MNCPA is not responsible for any penalties incurred by registrants who must cancel travel plans. We recommend postponing air travel arrangements until the program is certain to be held as scheduled. To check course status, please contact the MNCPA CPE department.

Refunds

The MNCPA issues refunds within 30 days. Refunds are issued in the same format as the payment was received.


CPE records

Record retention policy

In compliance with the Statement on Standards for Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Programs, the MNCPA retains CPE attendance for a minimum of five (5) years.

Certificates of attendance

The MNCPA official transcript serves as your certificate of attendance and meets the requirements of the Minnesota Board of Accountancy.

Transcripts

The Minnesota Board of Accountancy accepts this online version of your official transcript as valid proof of CPE. Both members and nonmembers can access this feature.

Note: the MNCPA partners with several vendors for webinar programs. The CPE records for these events are retained by each vendor and will not appear on the MNCPA transcript. The vendor will issue individual certificates of attendance. These webinar events will appear in the CPE Logs of MNCPA members. If you have questions about your webinar credits, please contact MNCPA CPE department at 952-831-2707.

Children, pets and nonregistered guests

Children, pets and nonregistered guests are not allowed at in-person events. In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, service animals are allowed for visually or physically challenged registrants.

Dress recommendations

Attire is business casual. You may want to wear layered clothing, as meeting room temperatures can fluctuate.

Inappropriate conduct

The MNCPA believes that all employees, members and customers should enjoy an environment free of disruptive and inappropriate conduct. Inappropriate conduct refers to behavior that personally offends, impairs morale and interferes with the work effectiveness of employees, members and customers. Inappropriate conduct includes, but is not limited to, abusive or profane language, inappropriate physical contact, and rude or destructive actions. The MNCPA reserves the right to pursue appropriate disciplinary action against any individual who conducts himself or herself inappropriately.

Photo release policy

The MNCPA or its contractors may photograph or record MNCPA events. Attendees agree to allow their image to be used in MNCPA publications, website and marketing materials. Images may also be shared with the media. Attendance at MNCPA events waives the MNCPA from liability resulting from these uses.

Self-study CPE credits are issued by the sponsor. Each self-study sponsor has a different method for making earned credits available to attendees.
