Debra Meier, CGFM, is an education specialist in the school finance division at the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE). She provides technical assistance to school districts and charter schools and is responsible for coordinating and updating the Uniform Financial Accounting and Reporting Standards (UFARS) manual. She has been at MDE for more than five years. Previously, Meier was the supervisor of accounting for more than 16 years, serving both the St. Francis and Forest Lake area school districts.
