Financial Planner

We are hiring a full-time Financial Planner to partner with our Wealth Managers to provide clients with timely, high-quality comprehensive financial planning advice.

They will prepare meeting materials, including tax and cash flow projections (with Holistiplan and MoneyGuidePro). They will review tax returns, summarize recommendations, help clients pursue strategies that optimize their tax situation, and keep wealth managers abreast of law changes.

This is an expert/technical position. It may lead to a technical career track of Financial Planner II, Sr. Financial Planner, Director of Financial Planning. Alternatively, they may pursue a Wealth Manager career track of Associate Wealth Manager, Wealth Manager, Senior Wealth Manager.


  • High initiative, drive, dedication, desire to learn.
  • Ability to interpret financial information and understand financial and economic terminology and concepts.
  • Excel, Word, Outlook skills. Tamarac, Salentica CRM, MoneyGuidePro experience preferred.
  • 5+ years in financial planning industry.
  • Tax planning experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree with 3.5+ GPA in financial planning, finance, economics, business, or accounting.
  • CFP Certification in process or obtained.
  • CPA or tax credential a plus.
  • Series 65 or Series 7 or willing to obtain Series 65.
  • Anticipated salary of $75,000-$90,000, based on experience.

Minnesota Trauma Recovery Institute seeks board member with financial background

Minnesota Trauma Recovery Institute (MN-TRI) is dedicated to building systemic capacity to heal traumatic stress experienced by people involved in the criminal justice system. Many families experience a recursive cycle of trauma, addiction, and criminal justice involvement. Interrupting these cycles requires healing the legacy of trauma and supporting systems of care that transform social structures to promote well-being.

Our vision: Heal the legacy of traumatic stress in families involved in the criminal justice system.

Our mission: To strengthen families involved in the criminal justice system by:
● Providing high quality systemic therapeutic services to individuals and families healing from traumatic stress and addiction.
● Providing training and education to equip systems of care to interrupt the cycle of trauma, addiction, and criminal justice involvement.
● Researching best practices for healing traumatic stress and addiction using applied, community-based research strategies.
