This course will address business and intellectual property appraisal challenges within the cannabis sector. The content will cover business valuation fundamentals, including premise and standard of value, approaches and methods of value, discounts and premiums, and levels of value. The course will also address the valuation of intellectual property and development stage businesses in the cannabis industry.

The course will cover reporting on appraisal matters, finding and screening appraisers and professional standards. Costs and timelines for appraisal projects will be covered.The content will provide an overview of the cannabis industry and unique issues that confront valuators in this industry. Attendees will be provided a discount on The Cannabis Industry Accounting and Appraisal Guide, published in July 2018 by the course instructor. This book includes 220 pages of information for owners, operators, investors and advisors in the cannabis industry on IRC 280E, cannabis industry bookkeeping, risk assessment, landmark case law and appraisal matters.
