Transitioning to a leadership position can raise issues you've never faced before. You must manage work that you may be unfamiliar with and supervise employees who might have previously been co-workers or staff with greater seniority. You need to understand the extent of your responsibilities and decision-making authority, and find ways to communicate expectations to your team. You may even be the one who has to make unpopular decisions.
