2021 Tax Guide for Minnesota Legislators
A resource for Minnesota lawmakers' tax-filing questions
The MNCPA created the 2021 Tax Guide for Minnesota Legislators to help elected officials better understand the state and federal income tax laws that apply to them. This is an especially important year because of several tax changes stemming from COVID-related bills and because of Minnesota's continued partial conformity to changes from the federal Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.
The guide's question-and-answer format makes it easy for legislators to look up common issues regarding travel expenses, living expenses and other issues affecting their tax returns. A digital version of the guide is updated annually.

Other resources for Minnesota legislators:
The Tax Guide for Minnesota Legislators does not cover personal- or business-tax matters unrelated to the role of a legislator. It is intended to provide accurate information in regard to the subject matter covered. The guide is not to be used as a basis for specific action without obtaining the services of a competent tax professional.
